Ideal for content creators, filmmakers, and journalists seeking a versatile mic for numerous field applications, the Atomos StudioSonic is a shotgun condenser mic with both wired and 2.4 GHz wireless operation. Featuring a wireless receiver with a bright OLED screen for monitoring your signal and both digital USB-C and analog 3.5mm wired outputs, the StudioSonic can handle nearly any shooting scenario.

Manual controls for the microphone include a selectable 75/150 Hz low-cut filter, high-frequency boost, and manual gain control. With the wireless mode engaged, you get extremely low latency of under 20ms with up to 328' line of sight. The supercardiod polar pattern ensures a highly focused pickup that avoids environmental noise in favor of your subject. The mic features an internal rechargeable battery that provides up to eight hours of battery life in wireless mode and up to 50 hours of operation in wired mode. When you want wired connectivity directly to your computer or smart device, the StudioSonic offers 24-bit / 48 kHz digital audio output with excellent voice isolation. The StudioSonic includes the wireless receiver, a USB-C locking cable, a 3.5mm TRS cable, fur and foam windshields, an adjustable pole mount, an Atomos Quick-Release mount, and an Atomos-branded carrying case.

The dual-mode design offers the flexibility to operate wirelessly over 2.4GHz or via a direct USB-C digital audio connection with the Atomos’ unique locking USB-C connector, ensuring a secure, professional-grade link to cameras, monitors, and computers. The StudioSonic Shotgun Mic combines both wireless freedom and reliable wired connectivity to cater for a diverse range of scenarios, including on-location interviews, run-and-gun shooting, field reporting, and capturing unscripted dialog. Its high quality 48 kHz / 24-bit supercardioid design isolates voices with precision, even in noisy environments.

Rechargeable Internal Battery

Unusual for a shotgun mic, the StudioSonic has an internal, USB-C rechargeable battery, capable of powering the device for around seven to eight hours in wireless mode and up to 50 hours in wired mode. The mic has analog and digital outputs, and the USB-C output is perfect for content creators who want to connect the mic directly to a computer, for podcasts or live streaming.
