 A key feature of the Arcana series is the 1.5x Hybrid Squeeze. In practice, this means that on full-frame and 6K/8K widescreen sensors, you'll achieve images with a distinctive, panoramic feel, while maintaining great flexibility in post-production.
DZOFILM has implemented a dynamic, elliptical aperture that reproduces the characteristic bokeh known from classic 2x lenses – "waterfall," elongated blur circles, natural tonal gradations, and organically rendered shots. This makes images from the Arcana 75mm instantly recognizable as cinematic, but without the compromises associated with earlier designs.

Front cylindrical lens group – cinematic flares and fewer "mumps."
The Arcana 75mm employs a front cylindrical optical design. This solution reduces the undesirable effect of "anamorphic mumps" (distortion of facial proportions in the center of the frame) while simultaneously generating sharp, horizontal lens flares with a natural color shift.
As a result, lens flares are rich yet controlled: they don't dominate the frame, but rather emphasize the scene's drama. This is particularly important in productions where the goal is to combine a modern, clean image with a subtle, creative anamorphic "finish."

T2.1 Brightness – Complete Control over Depth of Field.
The constant T2.1 brightness across the entire Arcana lens series ensures a high level of control over light and depth of field. With a 75mm focal length on full frame, you can achieve both wide, spacious shots and intimate shots with clear separation of the subject from the background.
T2.1 allows for comfortable working in challenging lighting conditions – on night sets, in natural light, or in locations without extensive lighting design. At the same time, the lens maintains comfortable sharpness and contrast, which is crucial for high-resolution recordings (4K, 6K, 8K).

The minimum focusing distance at a 75mm focal length is approximately 48cm (in the Arcana series, the range is 48–78cm, depending on the focal length). This allows for impressive mid-close-ups and detail shots while maintaining the characteristic anamorphic look and "waterfall" bokeh.
You can get the camera close enough to an actor or product to make the viewer feel literally "in the middle of the scene," without losing frame stability or full control over perspective.
