The grip attaches to the right side of your camera and functions as both a handle and formfitting cage for protection. Press the top button to access your camera's trigger from the top of the grip, just like a still camera. Mounting options include cold shoe mounts, 1/4"-20 threads, magnetic latch interface, and a foldable 2-prong mount.
