Sound Radix Drum Leveler

Sound Radix Drum Leveler is a dynamics-based audio plug-in that has been specially developed for the precise processing of percussive signals. It uses innovative real-time transient analysis to identify individual beats within an audio material and adjust their volume – regardless of whether they are too quiet or too loud. This makes Drum Leveler ideal for applications in drum editing, sample alignment, parallel compression and for preparing drum tracks for triggering or replacement processes.

In contrast to conventional compressors or gates, Drum Leveler allows selective processing on a transient basis. Separate thresholds are available for detection (Detection Threshold) and processing(Target Threshold). This dual-threshold structure makes it possible to process only certain beat events within a level range, while others remain unaffected. For example, the consistency of the kick or snare can be adjusted in acoustic drum recordings without distorting ghost notes or hi-hat crosstalk.

Another key feature is the option of MIDI output. This means that detected transients can be used to precisely control external samplers, drum replicators or virtual instruments – an essential tool in modern production environments, especially for hybrid setups of acoustic and electronic drum sounds.

Drum Leveler supports all common 64-bit plug-in formats and is compatible with macOS (incl. Apple Silicon) and Windows. It is typically used as an insert effect on individual tracks or group tracks within the DAW. Thanks to the highly precise control of percussive dynamics, the plugin offers an effective tool for detailed processing and sonic consistency in drum and percussion material.
